In the remote Altai Mountains of Russia, a new resort complex is under development, backed by the country’s largest bank. As part of the project, contractors are building several uphill cableway tracks. These tracks require solid concrete foundations. But delivering quality concrete from the base to the mountaintop posed serious difficulties due to the mountainous terrain and the complete absence of roads.
Key Construction Challenges
The project site presented two main difficulties:
- Transportation obstacles: The cableway foundations stretch from the valley to the mountain peak, but the upper areas have no access roads, making it extremely hard to deliver concrete uphill.
- Strict quality requirements: The sliding track foundations require high-strength concrete with precise material ratios—far beyond what manual mixing can achieve.
These challenges made standard concrete delivery and concrete production methods unreliable for this project.
Early Attempts Were Costly and Inefficient
Before adopting the AIMIX concrete mixing solution, the contractor tested several approaches:
- They tried manual on-site mixing, but the process was inefficient, the concrete quality was unstable, and material ratios were difficult to control.
- Ordering ready-mix concrete proved too expensive, and transporting it to the mountain slopes was dangerous due to the lack of roads.
- They have done research on the Carmix and AIMIX self loading mixer. But the Carmix self concrete mixer machine and its parts were overpriced, and the overall cost of concrete production remained high.
AIMIX Provided a More Reliable and Affordable Solution
After receiving a local recommendation, the contractor turned to AIMIX and purchased two models of self loading concrete mixers: AS-3.5 and AS-5.5. These self-loading concrete mixer trucks quickly solved several problems:
- Lower investment cost: Both the equipment and spare parts cost less than half of the Carmix solution.
- Local support: AIMIX had a nearby dealer and parts center, ensuring timely service and maintenance.
- Precision batching: The AIMIX self loading mixer is equipped with more advanced weighing system to ensure accurate material ratios.
- Verified quality: Concrete samples passed lab tests and fully met Russian national standards.
Efficient, Mobile, and Built for Mountain Terrain
Since adopting AIMIX self loading concrete mixers, the construction team has seen significant improvements:
- Improved site accessibility: Both of the self loading concrete mixer machines easily handle rough, steep mountain paths without relying on pre-built roads
- Reduced concrete costs: Production expenses dropped by over 50% compared to previous solutions
- On-demand concrete: Workers now mix and pour concrete directly at the foundation site, increasing speed and reducing waste
With AIMIX’s help, this resort project is progressing steadily—overcoming logistical challenges and producing top-quality concrete in one of Russia’s most demanding construction environments.
